My first attempt at a pop-up was a lesson in material choice and technique. The 100b bristol I used isn't resilient and my method of engineering the "pop" doesn't take this into account very well. I appended some splat-like cables from the signage to try to improve its pop, but with limited success. In short, it works about 1 in 4 times when the paper is opened past 180 degrees. splat.
